Animal Agriculture Land Buyout 8

“Nature is a key ally. Wherever we restore the wild, it will capture carbon and help us bring back balance to our planet.”
Sir David Attenborough, speaking at COP26
Every so often the VLM raises funds to buy out a specific piece of animal agriculture land, as many of you will have seen.
This is an exciting process, but also a very stressful one, because land comes onto the market on average, just a few weeks before an auction. So we are left having to campaign hard to make the target to enter the auction. This leaves us wide open to be seen by the competition, who are mainly other animal farmers.
The times we have won at auction; we were successful by using a ‘stealth’ approach. On these occasions, we campaigned hard publicly and were outbid on a first plot, subsequently entering a second auction (without any publicity on social media) and won the second piece of land. So, this tells us that the campaigning, which is necessary for raising funds and support, does unfortunately create awareness of our intentions, and therefore an opportunity for the animal farming industry to outbid us.
For these reasons, we decided to create this page as a generic land fundraise page to raise funds for an unspecific piece of animal agriculture land. When we get to a certain amount of funds, a campaign will be triggered for a specific parcel of land, but the identity and geography of this will be kept quiet until the actual day of the auction, when it will be too late for others to register to bid.
Rest assured, we have subscribed to many land agents, and we have at any one time several parcels of land in sight, worthy of a campaign push trigger.
Thank you for your incredible support so far and for any help you can give to the VLM Land Fund to secure future land buyouts. We must continue to save land from animal agriculture and to give it back to nature. Through compassionate rewilding we aim to create rich new habitats for endangered species and boost local wildlife biodiversity, as well as helping to mitigate the devastating effects of animal agriculture on the land, climate change and the extinction crisis.
Areas of land already given back to earth
The VLM are on a serious mission to save land and species. This has never been more important, or urgent, with UK’s biodiversity down by nearly 50% and particularly in light of recent talks at COP26 in Glasgow:
The Vegan Land Movement CIC (VLM) was established to acquire land, especially that which has been previously used for animal agriculture and to repurpose it for the benefit of local ecosystems and its inhabitants. We buy monoculture grazing land and through rewilding, transform depleted fields into vibrant, biodiverse landscapes – effectively giving the land back to the Earth.
We believe that transforming the land is a powerful response to many of our urgent crises: climate change; biodiversity loss; disconnection from nature and animal exploitation. The Vegan Land Movement CIC (VLM) is premised on non-violent land use and includes veganic farming, such as community orchards, as well as compassionate conservation and rewilding.

Terms and Conditions
In all cases if we are unsuccessful, either by being outbid or by not raising enough funds, then all the money raised will not be refunded, but simply put towards another patch of land within our price range, as soon as possible. There is no ‘lose’ scenario here, just a win for the earth and its inhabitants.
Join the Vegan Land Movement to help create a vegan world acre by acre.
